4 week yoga series for beginners

Learn the basics of yoga with Ben Wisch in our non-heated studio space.

You will learn how to link breath with movement, build your foundation and increase your flexibility. Ben will focus on breath instruction and moving in sync with the breath. You will learn the basic shapes of the poses and we will move in a steady flow from posture to posture with particular attention to physical alignment. Class will conclude with gentle relaxation.

This workshop practices Wednesday evenings 7-8:15pm for four weeks.

  • Week 1.  We focus on breath instruction and moving in sync with the breath. Learn the basic shapes of the poses and how to create a strong foundation through a sequence of postures. Finish with deep relaxation.

  • Week 2.  Incorporating the mechanics from week 1, we move in a steady flow from posture to posture with particular attention to physical alignment.  Finish with deep relaxation.

  • Week 3. Incorporating the mechanics from weeks 1 & 2 in a similar pose sequence refining alignment actions.  Strong focus on building strength in upper and lower body and core.  Finish with deep relaxation.

  • Week 4. This week we put all the pieces together. Link breath with movement; build a steadfast foundation in every posture; engage and align the body intelligently;  learn how to find the balance in the Yoga practice between strength and flexibility, bringing the body to its optimal blueprint.  Finish with deep relaxation.
